Custom Mythic+ in Cataclysm: dungeons, ratings and leaderboards

Cataclysm never had Mythic+, so Warspring built its own: a fully custom Cataclysm Mythic+ system with endlessly scaling keys, timers for every dungeon, seasons and leaderboards on the website and in game. Here is how it works.

How Mythic+ works

You run a dungeon with a keystone. The higher the key level, the harder the dungeon gets, and keys scale endlessly, so there is always a harder key to push. Beat the timer to get the most out of a run. Your best runs make up your Mythic+ rating, and every completed run shows on the latest runs list.

Mythic+ dungeons and timers

  • Blackrock Caverns: 15 minutes
  • Deadmines: 20 minutes
  • Grim Batol: 15 minutes
  • Lost City of the Tol'vir: 12 minutes
  • Shadowfang Keep: 15 minutes
  • The Stonecore: 15 minutes
  • The Vortex Pinnacle: 15 minutes
  • Throne of the Tides: 15 minutes

Timewalking

Five short Timewalking dungeons with a 5 minute timer each: Alcaz Island, Avalanchion's Vault, Chamber of the Moon, Feathermoon Stronghold and Highperch. They have their own Timewalking leaderboard.

Event dungeons

Each yearly event adds its own dungeon and keystone, open only while the event runs:

  • Sorrow's End (Hallow's End): 3 minute timer, keystone from the Undead Eagle.
  • Winterfall Village (Winter Veil): 3 minute timer, keystone from Elira the Frostbringer.
  • Grizzlemaw (Easter): 15 minute timer, keystone from the Easter vendors.

Event dungeons drop that event's emblem and mounts. The Event leaderboard is ranked per year and shows the running event by default. See the events guide for every reward.

Ratings and seasons

Your rating comes from your best run in each dungeon, added up. Mythic+ and Timewalking ratings belong to the current season, while event ratings are counted per year, so you can compare this Halloween with last year's.

Leaderboard brackets

  • Standard counts every run.
  • Non VIP only counts runs without VIP bonuses, so players without VIP compete on equal terms.
  • Standard Solo and Non VIP Solo only count runs completed alone.

Every player and run has its own page: open a name on the leaderboards to see their best keys, or the monthly leaderboard to see who did best this month.

Tips for pushing keys

  • Reach the haste cap before pushing high keys. It changes your damage more than anything else.
  • Measure your damage with Recount or Details, not the character screen.
  • Short dungeons like the Timewalking and event keys are the quickest way to climb a leaderboard.
  • Solo players get their own brackets, so you can compete without a group.
