FAQ
What kind of server is Warspring?
Warspring is a Cata fun server (Cataclysm fun server): a free Cataclysm 4.3.4 private server made to be fun rather than Blizzlike. Gear scales endlessly, bosses have trillions of health, there is a fully custom Mythic+ system with leaderboards, new races like Pandaren, Void Elf, Vulpera and Nightborne, and events every year for Hallow's End, Winter Veil and Easter.
Is Warspring a haste server?
Yes. Warspring is a Cata haste server (Cataclysm haste server) with a custom haste system that works with every proc and modifier, all the way down to a 0.00 attack speed. The haste cap is 10,000 for melee and 5,000 for casters, and reaching it completely changes how your class plays.
I found a bug. Where should I report it?
Please open an in-game ticket and describe the bug in as much detail as you can: what you were doing, what you expected to happen and what happened instead. Error messages and screenshots help our team fix it much faster.
How can I contact a GM or Admin?
For anything game related, open an in-game ticket and a GM will get back to you as soon as possible. For account or payment matters, email us at [email protected].
I purchased Gold Coins, but they are not showing up. What do I do?
No worries, we can sort this out. Email [email protected] with your account name, the email address you paid with and, if possible, a screenshot or receipt of your purchase. We'll look into it and get it resolved.
Is a higher or lower weapon speed better?
It depends. If you haven't reached the haste cap yet, a lower weapon speed helps you get there more easily. Once you are fully haste capped, a higher weapon speed does more damage: our damage calculation multiplies your damage by a factor of the weapon speed, so as long as you stay haste capped, higher weapon speed means much more damage.
How do I access the new races?
The new races appear on the character creation screen. If you don't see them, your client is probably not set up correctly. Make sure you start the game with Warspring.exe and that there is no "set patchlist localhost" line in your Config.WTF or realmlist.wtf. If the problem persists, follow the steps on our How to Connect page to download the full client.
Which numbers on my weapon show how much damage it does?
The regular damage range and damage per second shown on a weapon don't matter on our Cataclysm core. Only look at the numbers between < > in the weapon's name. As weapon speed goes up, the damage per second on the tooltip goes down, but you also get a damage multiplier for attack speed (see above), which results in more damage overall. The best way to test your damage is an addon like Recount or Details. Don't rely on item tooltips or the character screen.
Why hasn't my class been buffed, or a specific interaction fixed?
We have a long list of work and limited time, so we prioritize. Our first goal was for every class to have one or two specs that can progress efficiently through all content. Once a class was playable, we didn't chase every small broken mechanic, as there are hundreds on a custom haste server. We read every bug report and work through them as time allows, so thank you for your patience while we keep improving every class.
I can't connect. Is the server down?
Usually not. Being disconnected while logging in normally means your client files don't match the server's files. If you can't connect for the first time, open a ticket on another account or email us with a screenshot of your Data and enUS folders, plus your Config.WTF and wow.mfil files, and we'll help you find the problem.
Why do mobs have much more health than their health bar shows?
Warspring uses a custom system that lets mob health go far beyond the maximum the WoW client normally allows (into the billions). To see the correct values, don't use an addon that changes health bars: most of them are capped at the old maximum and won't show health beyond it.
